When are you getting married?
September 13, 2008.
The ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m. The reception will follow immediately afterward.
Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be at Camp Whitcomb-Mason, a Boys and Girls Club camp in Hartland, WI. This unusual venue boasts woods, frontage on beautiful Lake Keesus, and a couple of very nice lodges. We chose this venue because we both love the outdoors, and it had a playful atmosphere that we both enjoyed.
Our ceremony will take place outdoors along Lake Keesus.
The reception will be at James Lodge, an indoor lodge with a large patio.
How do I get to Camp Whitcomb-Mason?
Directions to the venue can be found here. Please follow the directions to James Lodge, found at the bottom of the page. Google Maps is also a great source of directions.
Please be advised that the directions from any web-based map program will direct you to the opposite side of the campground. While the address of the venue is on Camp Whitcomb Road, it is easier to get to James Lodge's parking lot from Center Oak Road, approaching from the opposite side of the lake.
Who is doing the catering?
Davian's, a Menomonee Falls-based catering company, will be catering our reception. We plan to serve a seated dinner with the choice of Door County Chicken or Beef Rouladen.
Will there be cake?
Oh, yes. Eat Cake, a small bakery near Washington Park in Milwaukee, will be supplying our wedding cake.
What about drinks?
We plan on having a one-hour hosted bar, with beer and soda available all night. A cash bar will also be available for the remainder of the night.
Please be advised that there is no ATM on the premises. Please come equipped with money if you plan to drink mixed drinks all night.
Where are you registered?
We are registered at Target and Boston Store. The Boston Store registry is also available at any of the Bon-Ton family of stores, including Herberger's, Elder-Beerman, Carson Pirie Scott, Younkers, and Bergner's.
Who is in your wedding party?
Trick question. We opted out of having a wedding party. Although we both have many people that we would love to honor with positions in the wedding party, we also value intimacy and simplicity.
How do I RSVP?
Feel free to RSVP via email or phone call, or simply return the RSVP card enclosed in your invitation.
Call Katie (414-380-4872) or Frank (414-380-8411).
Or email Katie (kadiekat@yahoo.com) or Frank (thegolddog@gmail.com).
Please remember to indicate how many people are coming and their choices of entree: Door County Chicken or Beef Rouladen. If you are unable to come, either call or email us, or jot down a quick note on the back of the reply card letting us know.
Please RSVP by 8/23/08, even if you are letting us know that you can't make it. Our venue is small, and we are having a seated meal; it is essential that we know who is coming and what to serve whom. Thank you.
ETA: We're starting to get response cards back. Yay! Just a reminder to put your name on the line next the the "M." Otherwise, we're left guessing.
Is there any lodging available nearby?
We have not made arrangements with any specific hotels, but there are several available in the area.
A few of the many hotels in the area include the following:
Country Springs Hotel in nearby Pewaukee, WI is a great family-friendly option. It has a waterpark for the kids, and a day spa!
Comfort Suites Lake Country, also in Pewaukee, WI, includes continental breakfast, a pool and fitness center.
Best Western Waukesha Grand, in Pewaukee, WI, is an affordable option that allows pets.
Holiday Inn Express in Delafield, WI, is another affordable option.
ETA: Rooms in the area are booking up fast!
It looks like rooms are also available at the Radisson Hotel Milwaukee-Pewaukee
What should I wear?
The ceremony and reception are relatively informal. Katie is wearing an informal, but traditional wedding gown. Frank is wearing a nice suit.
Dress is casual to semiformal. Ladies may want to avoid stilettos; the ceremony is outdoors and by a lake. We don't want anyone getting stuck in the ground!
